all very fun to draw. Some require more work then others because of the
details of the character. These characters are so unique from any other
that has ever been created so you may have to try a few different
techniques at times to get the right affect you want. As with any other
characters that you may draw you want to give your drawing something
that will set it aside from others. Something that you have thought of,
make it your own.
There are many different textures in the monsters, so depending on the
one that you want to draw will define what technique you will need to
use. Some of the characters have hair, some have scales, some have a bug
like skin, some are smooth or slimy and many more. You will have to
determine how you want to recreate the textures, there are many chooses
that you can go with. You can use many items to create different
affects. You can smear with a q-tip or you can use a special drawing
eraser to create highlights. You should use graphite pencils for the
best results; they come in many levels of darkness. This will help you
when you have to do textures, and different values as well.
You also want to be sure that you capture the movement of your monster.
If you have them walking or moving at all you want to be sure that you
get the body movement correct. Also some of the monsters have fur; you
will need to be sure that you give it the right line of movement also.
The smooth or slimy monsters will reflect light so you will need to
capture that in your drawing also. The expression on your monster’s face
is also important. This will give your viewer an idea of what your
monster’s mood is.
