Drawing Kung Fun Panda is fun and here is how you can do it.
Everyone has a favorite cartoon character; just think how great it
will be to draw them. The recently released movie Kung Fu Panda is a
great movie and many love it. We are going to look at how you can draw
him and give the drawing a touch of your own. There are a few ways you
can start your drawing and we will take a look at some of those ways.
You can use circles, lines or freehand. Try one or two and see what
works best for you, everyone is different. After you have the character
drawn you can add your own special touches to make it unique.

A very common way to draw is to start with circles. This technique will
layout the body and main features of the cartoon character to give you a
“map” to go by. When you use this technique the starter circles should
be drawn very lightly so they do not appear in the end result. You want
to draw a circle for the head, and within this circle you should then
draw a circle for each dark area that surrounds the eyes then a circle
for each eye as well. Next draw a circle for the abdomen and one for
each hand and foot. These circles will vary depending on the position of
the character. Some of your circles will not be perfect but rather a
distortion of a circle. The next thing you want to do is connect them
together. You can draw ovals to connect them or just use lines in the
shape of the character’s position. Once you have done this Kung Fu Panda
will start to emerge. Now start drawing in the details and darkening the
areas that need to be. When doing this you want to pay attention to the
light source, where the light is coming from. You want to be sure
shadows and highlights are in the correct spot. Lastly you can add your
own touch to the drawing. Add a background or a hat, what ever you want
to do.
The other option would be to use lines. You want to start with the
outline of the character, again with this method your starting lines
should be drawn lightly so that your end result will be great. Now you
want to draw a line or lines for the eyes and ears, the belly markings,
the fingers and toes, and outline the markings of the panda. Now you add
your details. Finish off any remaining details. If he is winking or
waving you want to give it the full affect.
If you are better at freehand drawing then just chose a starting point
and go from there. Some people like to complete one whole area before
moving on, while others prefer to draw out the whole character and then
do the details.
Here are a few details to remember while drawing Kung Fu Panda. His face
is very expressive, so no matter what method you chose to draw with, you
need to make sure that you give extra attention to the face. You will
need to draw the hair lines to create the eye brows and do not forget
the little tuff of hair on the tip of his head. When you draw his nose
be sure that you also give the effect that there is some hair over the
top of the nose. The most time consuming part of drawing this character
will be his hair. It is all over his body and you will need to create
this affect to have it look like Kung Fu Panda.
Enjoy drawing your character and be sure to add a little bit of you in
every drawing. When you draw you want to have fun, so remember that and
you will be very satisfied with the results. |
